Software and Protocls

Although software packages evolve and hopefully improve over time, the general concepts and ideas remain seem to remain unchanged.

I have worked with the following software packages and platforms. The most recent ones are at the top of the list.

  • MATLAB  – Extensive use during PhD for performance modeling
  • COMSOL  – Some use during PhD
  • PHP/HTML – Personal web pages
  • Academic (as instructor)

    • C#, C++ – Limited at Air Force Academy
    • SPICE – Extensiver use for analog and digital circuit simulation of lab circuits
  • EDA

    • VHDL/Verilog – Extensive use at NSA and AFRL for state machine design, chip design, and verification
    • Mentor Graphics – Chip Design at NSA
    • Modelsim – Platform for VHDL at AFRL
    • Magic and IRSIM – Physical Layout and verification at AFRL
    • Synopsis – Synthesis at AFRL
    • Eagle, Limited use for board design (etching)
